A brand new class that shoots first and asks questions later is making its way to D&D Beyond courtesy of third-party publisher Mage Hand Press. The new DnD Gunslinger was first introduced in 2022 in the pages of Valda’s Spire of Secrets, a player sourcebook that also recently landed on D&D Beyond.
The new class, which technically uses the DnD 2014 rules set, features six new subclasses along with new spells, feats, character hooks and rules that govern the use of firearms. You can grab your copy of the class guide now via D&D Beyond.
So is the new DnD Gunslinger quick on the draw? Below, we saddle up and run down all the details.

What’s included in the Gunslinger Class on D&D Beyond?
The Gunslinger Class book from Mage Hand Press contains complete rules for Levels 1 to 20. It also includes:
- 6 subclasses (the Deadeye, High Roller, Secret Agent, Spellslinger, Trick Shot and White Hat)
- 14 new firearms (with new properties and masteries)
- New firearms maneuvers and new “Risk Dice” mechanics
- 9 new firearm-focused spells
- 3 new Feats
Notably the content originally appeared in Valda’s Spire of Secrets sourcebook in 2022, which was created by third-party publisher Mage Hand Press after a massive Kickstarter back in 2021. The book gained a ton of popularity due to the sheer amount of content it presented, as well as its humorous and quirky tone.
It’s also important to note that the rules are designed for DnD 2014 (although with a little work it can easily be ported over to DnD the 2024 rules).

How Much is the Gunslinger Class on D&D Beyond?
Currently, the Gunslinger Class book retails for $14.99 USD on D&D Beyond, which seems a little on the steep side, but on par with other third-party classes, such as MCDM’s Illrigger class, which also retails for $14.99 USD on D&D Beyond.
What other DnD Gunslinger options are available?
Notably Mage Hand’s version isn’t the first time we’ve seen a DnD Gunslinger on D&D Beyond. In fact, it also appeared as an unofficial Fighter subclass that was created for the D&D 5e rules by Matt Mercer or Critical Role fame back in 2018. A version of Mercer’s Gunslinger subclass was also released on DMsGuild.

Final Thoughts
It’s cool to see Wizards of the Coast continue to publish new third-party classes on D&D Beyond, and while the Gunslinger might not be for everyone, it’s also an intriguing idea (and one that would work well in settings and adventures such as Frontiers of Eberron: Quickstone)
In any case, if you’re looking to add the new DnD Gunslinger class to your group, you can grab ’em now via D&D Beyond.
